Kavitha Chinnaiyan, MD, MSCCT

Dr. Chinnaiyan is a cardiologist at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital Heart & Vascular in Michigan. She is a world leader in cardiac CT, author and co-author of more than a hundred manuscripts and abstracts, and a founding member of the Society. Learn More

Maros Ferencik, MD, PhD, MCR, MSCCT

In July 2024, SCCT welcomed Maros Ferencik as he began his term as SCCT President. Learn More

Cristina Fuss, MD, PhD, FSCCT

Cristina Fuss is professor and section chief of Cardiothoracic Imaging at Oregon Health & Science University. She has a special interest in congenital heart disease, complex valve diseases and pulmonary non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections. Learn More

Irfan Zeb, MD

Irfan Zeb, MD, entered the SCCT Future Leaders Program with the assignment to create and execute one or two projects that help the Society push forward its mission. Dr. Zeb graduated from the program completing not one or two but four projects. Learn More

Inaugurated in 2015, SCCT’s 10th anniversary year, the Gold Medal Award is the highest honor bestowed by SCCT and recognizes leaders who have made landmark contributions to the Society.

This award promotes the prevention of death from heart disease by recognizing individuals whose pioneering efforts have saved lives from the leading killer throughout the world, coronary artery disease.

Inaugurated in 2025, this award aims to provide recognition, visibility and seed funding for research projects that highlight and improve gaps in our understanding of cardiac and vascular physiology, specifically in women, incorporating CCTA imaging.

Inaugurated in 2023, the SCCT Clinical Trials and Registries Award is supported by Cleerly and recognizes and supports clinical trials that use CCTA and/or CCTA-based analyses to detect atherosclerotic burden in the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, and demonstrate a positive impact on patient outcomes.
