SCCT Clinical Trials and Registries Award

Inaugurated in 2023, the SCCT Clinical Trials and Registries Award is supported by Cleerly and recognizes and supports clinical trials that use CCTA and/or CCTA-based analyses to detect atherosclerotic burden in the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, and demonstrate a positive impact on patient outcomes.

"Guiding implementation of preventative care strategies for patients with atherosclerotic plaque on coronary computed tomographic angiography: Primary outcomes of the DECIDE (Artificial Intelligence-DErived Plaque Quantification: CCTA and AI-QCPA for Determining Effective CAD Management) Registry"

Dr. McCarthy’s work investigates the influence of artificial intelligence-derived quantitative coronary plaque assessment (AI-CPA) on patient management decisions in patients with atherosclerotic plaque.

 

Runner-up Jorge Dahdal, MD, a research associate at Amsterdam University Medical Center, is recognized for his compelling study, "CCTA outperforms CAC Scoring for cardiovascular risk prediction in young patients." He will present his work and receive an award during the Best Original Science session at SCCT2025.
