Master of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography

The MSCCT designation recognizes those SCCT members who show evidence of an ongoing interest and contribution in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases through cardiovascular computed tomography research, education and patient care, following completion of training.

Becoming a Master of SCCT will enhance your stature as a provider with your patients, as well as your peers. This designation further shows your extraordinary expertise and experience and your abiding commitment to providing the highest quality of care.

Mastership is the ultimate recognition of achievement and the most acclaimed designation that SCCT offers its members.

Criteria:

Candidates may apply through one of two tracks.

Clinical track requirements
  Scientific track requirements
  • SCCT member for at least ten (10) consecutive years.
  • Board-certified in cardiology or radiology, CBCCT or BCBNC.
  • Two letters of recommendation:
    • One letter must be from a current MSCCT or SCCT Board member and should highlight accomplishments as required below.
    • One letter may be from a current MSCCT, SCCT Board member or a nationally recognized leader in the field of cardiovascular imaging (an author of at least 100 papers in cardiovascular CT, author of at least five  (5) guidelines/position papers).
  • Must meet at least four (4) of the following criteria:
    • Published at least twenty (20) peer-reviewed manuscripts, chapters with cardiovascular CT focus or impact CT (including at least three first or senior authored paper) and at least one (1) scientific statement or guideline in the field of imaging.
      • Alternatively, if no statement or guideline authored, ther criteria is revised to forty (40) peer-reviewed manuscripts, chapters with cardiovascular CT focus or impact CT (including at least five (5) first or senior authored papers).
    • Given twenty (20) talks regionally or nationally related to cardiovascular CT, or online educational activities. 
    • Active participant in ten (10) SCCT activities, such as:
      • Faculty at the SCCT Annual Scientific Meeting
      • Faculty at an SCCT Workshop
      • Faculty of an online educational; activity
    • Volunteerism, including:
      • Board of Director membership
      • Committee chairship
    • Attended the SCCT Annual Scientific Meeting seven (7) of the previous ten (10) years.
    • Medical director, committee chair or working group member at the local imaging level or national system.
  • SCCT member for at least ten (10) consecutive years.
  • PhD diploma.
  • Two letters of recommendation:
    • One letter must be from a current MSCCT or SCCT Board member and should highlight accomplishments as required below.
    • One letter may be from a current MSCCT, SCCT Board member or a nationally recognized leader in the field of cardiovascular imaging (an author of at least 100 papers in cardiovascular CT, author of at least five  (5) guidelines/position papers).
  • Must meet ALL of the following criteria:
    • Published at least twenty (20) peer-reviewed manuscripts, chapters with cardiovascular CT focus or impact CT (including at least three first or senior authored paper) and at least one (1) scientific statement or guideline in the field of imaging.
      • Alternatively, if no statement or guideline authored, ther criteria is revised to forty (40) peer-reviewed manuscripts, chapters with cardiovascular CT focus or impact CT (including at least five (5) first or senior authored papers).
    • Given twenty (20) talks regionally or nationally related to cardiovascular CT, or online educational activities.

Applications are reviewed by the Verification/FSCCT Committee. A responses will be provided within six weeks of receiving the application.
