Help protect and improve cardiac CT reimbursement

SCCT needs your help to respond to the recently released CY 2026 Medicare Proposed Rule under the Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (HOPPS).

These rules have major implications for cardiac CT — some positive, some concerning — and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is seeking comments by September 15.

We’re asking you to do two things:

• Send a comment letter to CMS
• Keep up the efforts to use cardiology revenue codes (048x, for example) — talk to your billing/financial administrator to confirm its use. Without your help, CCTA codes may lose APC 5572 placement and reimbursement could return to a lower rate.
