SCCT needs your assistance to support doubling payment rates for CCTA. The newly released HOPPS CY25 proposed ruling gives us the opportunity to raise Medicare reimbursement for CCTA in the U.S., from $175 to $386.

CCTA has been severely under-reimbursed for years. The increased reimbursement would have huge implications and would alleviate financial pressure on medical practices. Consequently, a higher payment rate could lead to cardiac CT testing being offered at more sites, ensuring better patient access to this cost-efficient exam.

Action needed from you:

CMS is seeking input by September 9, 2024 to consider revising how CCTA reimbursement is calculated.

By sending a letter to CMS, advocating for the increased reimbursement, this generates higher awareness for the wider community and presents further information to CMS on why these rates should increase. 

In addition to your letter, talk to your financial administrator about the possibility of a revenue code change and encourage them to write a letter as well.
