This technologist-specific education consists of programming planned by technologists, for technologists. Organized by the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT), this course will provide discussions and review of cardiac anatomy, scanner basics, patient prep and safety, medications, imaging and more. This online event will offer CE credits and is a great opportunity to learn from subject matter experts. New! All sessions will now be viewable via the SCCT mobile app. Learn on the go! Advanced Cardiovascular CT 2025 Saturday, March 22, 2025 | 10am - 4pmChair: Nikkole Weber, AS RT ( R)(CT)(M) CSCCT Description: : Building on the incredible education shared in our first symposium, Basic Review & Update 2025, the second symposium, Advanced Cardiovascular CT 2025 is 5 hours and will elevate your level of cardiac CT knowledge. This course will encompass sessions about a wide variety of exams including coronary calcification CT, coronary CTA, triple rule out, CT exams used for preoperative planning and postoperative evaluation of cardiac valves, and exams designed to visualize heart structure and morphology. New this year are additional sessions on imaging of pediatric patients, congenital heart anomalies of pediatric and adult patients and an overview of photon counting detector technology and how it benefits patients in the cardiovascular world. Attendees will be given information on all aspects of the exam including discussions about appropriate use of cardiac medications, IV contrast and scan protocol parameters. Throughout the symposium, you will learn about strategies and tools to obtain high-quality exams on difficult-to-image patients. We have emphasized the importance of patient preparation, the use of cardiac medications, IV contrast and indication based protocol parameters in the previous two courses. In this course we will explain how these key elements of cardiac scanning impact the post processing outcome. There are several different applications that can be used to create a multitude of images. Why we need these images, what they are used for and how they assist in diagnosis for patient care will be explored in this session. Learning objectives: - Distinguish what radiologists need from a 3D Lab.
- Identify the departments needed in order to support an on-site 3D Lab.
- Recognize what radiologists need from 3D Post Processing of LAA/PV to help aid their diagnosis.
- Identify the importance of high quality images of the LAA/PV for high quality results.
