Advanced Hands-on Cardiovascular CT Course (Level 2)
Sunday, Jan. 20 - Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019 | Croke Park | Dublin, Ireland
The course material will cover the whole spectrum of cardiovascular CT and fulfil the complete didactic requirement for Level 2 verification/accreditation. This includes typical findings and artefacts in CCTA and more broadly includes cases of grafts, stents, structural and valvular heart disease, simple congenital, and difficult anatomic situations. Cases are selected to highlight specific teaching points.
Participants will have extensive exposure to interpretation of carefully selected coronary CT angiography datasets, including hands-on evaluation of 150 cardiovascular CT cases. Each participant will have their own individual workstation. In addition, attendees will be introduced to the basics of cardiac anatomy, acquisition protocols, CT physics, clinical use of cardiovascular CT and much more. Every CT case will then be reviewed, on a large screen, followed by discussion and viewing of invasive coronary angiography or other correlation as indicated.
Participants will be able to have these 150 cases and associated lecture content count towards the "Minimum Number of Mentored Examinations Interpreted" according to the ACCF/AHA Clinical Competence Statement on Cardiac CT and MR (Budoff et al, JACC 46:2005;383-402), which lists 50 cases of mentored examinations interpreted as a requirement for Level 1 training, 150 cases for Level 2 training, and 300 cases for Level 3 training.
