Hands-on workshops

Aortic and mitral intervention: Procedural planning workshop
Chairs: Jonathan Weir-McCall, MBChB, FRCR, PhD and Anna Reid, MBChB, PhD
Faculty: James Dundas, MBBS
Vendor: TeraRecon

Participants will learn how to acquire and interpret cardiovascular CT for TAVR and TMVR. Participants will learn through lectures and standardized analytical process the standardized measurements from cardiovascular CT to optimize clinical and procedural with a focus on pre-procedure planning, device selection, and avoidance of complications. In addition, the importance of post-procedural imaging evaluation of these patients will be reviewed and discussed. During this course you will learn from a multi-disciplinary, expert faculty using a hands-on, case-based approach. Learners will be able to practice and apply their skills on actual cases and interact with instructors one-on-one and in small groups.

Discussion Sponsors: Caristo, Cleerly, Circle, GE HealthCare, HeartFlow, Philips, United Imaging
Exhibitors: Spimed-AI

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are driving rapid enhancements across the spectrum of cardiac CT (CCT). How can one evaluate and leverage these new AI/ML driven cardiac CT technologies to rapidly enhance the care of patients in your health care environment and improve clinical practice? As a health care leader, how can you better understand both the evidence generation, regulatory pathways and economic impact of AI to drive systematic changes in practice? This SCCT AI/ML symposium leverages world leading experts in cardiac CT, artificial intelligence and data science to present these topics in a unique, small group format. Talks from industry collaborators will allow attendees to apply the education with current advancements in the field.

Congenital heart disease forum
Chair: Anjali Chelliah, MD

The population of adults with congenital heart disease (CHD) is growing exponentially as a result of improved outcomes of medical, surgical and catheter-based treatment strategies. As CHD patients live longer, there is a greater need for high resolution coronary imaging in addition to anatomic imaging, increased use of electrophysiology devices that are MRI unsafe, and higher prevalence of metallic implants that adversely affect MRI image quality. For these patients, CT is increasingly the preferred advanced imaging modality. CT in CHD combines the knowledge and skill sets of both pediatric and adult cardiology and radiology.
