Board of Directors Bio: Dr. Ronald Karlsberg, MD

Ronald Karlsberg MD is an early adopter of Cardiac CT and has contributed to field in the areas of demonstrating the feasibility of integrating cardiac CT into an office practice, the early reporting of reduced interventional volume as a result of CT adoption, cardiac CT for stent evaluation, Cardiac CT for left atrial appendage thrombus evaluation, the early detection of non-calcified plaque in young patients, detection of reversal of non-calcified plaque with statins, integration of FFRCT into patient care, FFRCT threshold values for revascularization and development of computational fluid dynamic metrics to predict bypass graft closure and early studies using

augmented intelligence for CT interpretation. Dr. Karlsberg has been active in the multiple professional societies including the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, The Society for Cardiac Computed Tomography, contributing at annual sessions, committees, registries, and guideline development. His “Cutting-Edge Cardiac CT Training Program” has been continuously offered since 2006 and remains one of the most popular training experiences. He is the author of over one hundred publications and is a frequent invited speaker. He is one of the Founders and the Chairman of the nonprofit Cardiovascular Research Foundation of Southern California (CVRF) which provides awards for Cardiology as well as national awards to the best science for research at international society meetings including the annual SCCT meeting. Dr. Karlsberg is Clinical Professor of Medicine Cedars Sinai Smidt Heart Institute and the David Geffen School of Medicine. Dr. Karlsberg is on the Board of Directors of the SCCT.
