SCCT2025 Health Policy
The health and safety of our communities, audiences, and families is important to SCCT. COVID-19 resulted in cancellation of our 2020 and 2021 meetings, and we are pleased to offer an in-person meeting to those who feel comfortable meeting in person again. SCCT is committed to compliance with all local and federal guidance with respect to meetings including CDC guidance. We also acknowledge that our members and attendees largely work in healthcare, where often more specific guidance may be applicable to any individual. At the time of this policy update in June 2022, we do not plan to verify your compliance with local (prior) guidance, but we do recommend that you follow the advice of relevant authorities—we thus encourage vaccines as medically directed, and masking as per your judgment, especially in situations where you cannot avoid prolonged close contact. As always, you should not attend the annual meeting if you are actively ill or contagious with an infectious disease (including COVID-19).
Should you contract COVID-19 or feel ill approaching the event, please contact info@scct.org. We will work with you to accommodate your needs.
Privacy policy
Your data privacy and security are important to us. When you register for this event, SCCT will process your data in accordance with our legitimate interests for hosting an educational event and for being a community-based organization.
Liability waiver and Be Well agreement
As a condition of my participation in this meeting or event, I hereby waive any claim I may have against the SCCT and its officers, directors, employees, or agents, or against the presenters or speakers, for reliance on any information presented and release SCCT from and against any and all liability for damage or injury that may arise from my participation or attendance at the program. I further understand and agree that all property rights in the material presented, including common law copyright, are expressly reserved to the presenter or speaker or to SCCT. I acknowledge that participation in SCCT events and activities brings some risk and I do hereby assume responsibility for my own well-being. If another individual participates in my place per SCCT transfer policy, the new registrant agrees to this disclaimer and waiver by default of transfer.
I understand that travel and gathering involves risk of sickness, including sickness from COVID-19. I (and on behalf of my guest(s)) waive and release SCCT and its sponsors and exhibitors, and their employees and agents, from and against claims, liabilities and expenses arising from injury, sickness or death from contraction or spread of COVID-19 or other communicable disease due to travel to or attendance at an event sponsored by SCCT.
I will take necessary precautions while at the event including, but not limited to, engaging in appropriate social distancing, wearing a mask when requested and/or required, minimize face touching, frequently washing hands and avoiding risky environments such as overcrowded bars or restaurants. I agree to not attend any SCCT event if I feel ill or had recent exposure to a COVID-19 case.
This waiver and release is binding on me and my heirs and successors.
