Five radiology and cardiology trainees have been selected as finalists for the 12th Annual Canon Young Investigator Awards (YIA) in cardiovascular computed tomography. Each finalist will present their research at the 2018 Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) Annual Scientific Meeting, July 12 – 15 in Dallas, Texas. The YIA program supports the professional and clinical development of top radiology residents and cardiology fellows within five years of completing a training program.

“SCCT greatly values the long-standing partnership with Canon Medical Systems, a company that recognizes the importance of promoting the research, writing and oral presentation skills of the trainees,” says YIA Chair, Ronald Karlsberg, MD. “This experience can serve as a springboard for young investigators to become future thought leaders in the field of cardiovascular imaging.”

The following five finalists will give an oral presentation of their manuscripts before an independent panel of judges on Saturday, July 14, from 10:30am – 12noon:

·         Lauren Severance, MD

·         Sang-Eun Lee, MD

·         Márton Kolossváry, MD

·         Alexander Van Rosendael, MD

·         Logan Hubbard, MD

The judges will select two winners who will be announced at the closing ceremony on Sunday, July 15. Each award winner’s manuscripts will be eligible for priority peer-reviewed publication in the Journal of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (JCCT).
