Wm. Guy Weigold, MD, FSCCT is the Director of Cardiac CT at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. Under his directorship MWHC initiated the first cardiac CT program in the Washington DC area in 2003. Dr. Weigold has served as site principle investigator for national multi-center trials of cardiovascular CT, and conducts research as a member of the MedStar Cardiovascular Research Network (MCRN).
Dr. Weigold has a long record of teaching and publishing in cardiac CT, and travels widely to lecture at national and international meetings. He is currently the Secretary of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT), course co-director of the SCCT’s Annual Cardiovascular CT Board Review Course, past co-director of the SCCT’s Annual Scientific Meeting, and has over 10 years of experience teaching workstation training courses for the SCCT and the American College of Cardiology among other organizations.
Dr. Weigold received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota and his internal medicine training at Northwestern University. He then completed a cardiology fellowship at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and received advanced training in Cardiac CT at the Cleveland Clinic and the University of Maryland. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Cardiovascular CT, and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiovascular CT.
