Armin A. Zadeh, MD, PhD, MPH, FSCCT is an academic cardiologist and the Director of Cardiac Computed Tomography at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in the Division of Cardiology and Associate Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and in Baltimore, USA. After attending medical school in Germany and completing internships in medicine and surgery in Germany and Britain, he spent several years in cardiovascular research at the University of California at San Diego to study coronary artery disease using intravascular ultrasound. He then completed his postgraduate training in Philadelphia and Dallas to join the cardiology faculty at Johns Hopkins Hospital after a CT imaging fellowship in 2005.
Dr. Zadeh was one of the main investigators of the CorE-64 study and currently directs the CT coronary angiography core laboratory for the CorE-320 multicenter trial. An SCCT member soon after its foundation, Dr. Zadeh has served on numerous SCCT committees over the past decade, including writing panels for inaugural guidelines on the acquisition and interpretation of cardiac CT. Since 2008, he co-directs the Annual SCCT Comprehensive Board Review and Update of Cardiovascular CT.
Dr. Zadeh’s clinical and investigational focus is the evaluation and management of patients with suspected coronary heart disease. He is Board Certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and cardiovascular CT. He reviews manuscripts for numerous scientific journals, including JACC, JACCimaging, JCCT, AJR, Heart, AJC, and is an author of scientific articles in Circulation, New England Journal of Medicine, JACC, JCCT, AHJ, and others. Dr. Zadeh is the current Editor-in-Chief of the SCCT Cardiovascular CT Board Prep Book 3rd Edition.
