Joanne Olson
Executive Director

Joanne has over 20 years’ experience in nonprofit and Association Management. She grew up in Maryland, and currently lives there, after having spent about 15 years working in the United Kingdom, Macedonia, Belgium, Thailand, and Hong Kong. Joanne is currently working on her MBA at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom, and hopes to finish before her two teenagers enter university themselves.




Karen Frame
Education and Finance Coordinator

Karen is from Manassas, Virginia, and In her spare time she enjoys visiting historical areas. Karen is also a serious science fiction fan, and an avid poker player.


Claire Johns
Director, Membership, Marketing and Communications


Claire has over 10 years' experience in medical association management. She worked in meetings before moving to communications, where she has been successful in leveraging her promotional skills. Claire received her MBA from the University of Mississippi in 2009. She resides in Frederick, Maryland with her husband and son. Claire enjoys cooking, reading, and hiking in her spare time.




Jason Lee
Membership and Administrative Coordinator

Jason was born in Southern Pines, North Carolina. He enjoys snowboarding, playing video games, cooking, and audio engineering. Jason lives in Alexandria, Virginia, and was a State Champion in Cross Country in High School. Jason has a trip to Europe on his bucket list, and is excited to push himself personally and professionally by learning new lucrative skills like coding and Data Analytics.


Lorrie Patillo
Senior Manager, Education Programs


Lorrie is a Washington, DC Native, who enjoys reading, writing fiction, going to the theater, and traveling. She loves taking photos of her family and friends, and is not a fan of Reality television or “Selfies”. Lorrie is also a classically trained Pianist who has played in Go-Go, R&B and pop bands locally.




Kristin Stierle
Director, Meetings and Exhibits

Kristin currently lives in Leesburg, but is originally from Vienna, Virginia. She loves to read, and to travel with her family. Kristin and her family also enjoy snorkeling, so she does not let her children watch Shark Week. Kristin’s Dog is named “Jude” from the Beatles song “Hey Jude”, because she loves the band The Beatles.



Melissa Fairbank
Meetings and Sponsorship Manager


Melissa was born and raised in Chantilly, Virginia and currently resides in Reston. She enjoys hiking, cooking and taking her dog Finn to the dog park in her spare time. She hopes to adopt another dog and name him Sawyer. Melissa is always moving onto new home renovation and décor projects. One of her passions in life is traveling and experiencing new places and cultures. 



R. Dawn Brennamen
Director of Advocacy and Payer Relations

Dawn has more than 20 years in association management, having worked for numerous medical associations. Originally from North Carolina, she also has lived in Virginia, Ohio, Washington DC, and currently resides in Chicago, IL. Dawn earned her BA in political science at Ohio University and an MPA from the Illinois Institute of Technology. She grew up in a sports family and, as an avid sports fan, plays in several fantasy leagues.  Be sure to ask her about her trophy case!


 Audrey Gentry
Marketing and Communications Coordinator



Audrey is the newest member of the SCCT team and resides in Pinehurst, North Carolina. She enjoys reading, gardening and recently got into bee-keeping. Audrey loves to travel and was able to study abroad twice, in Italy and Spain. She received her Master's degree in International Studies from East Carolina University, Go Pirates!
