SCCT response to USPSTF evidence review and recommendation statement
Share |

SCCT, joined by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and American College of Radiology (ACR), recently submitted comments to the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) to challenge the USPSTF evidence review and recommendation statement regarding coronary artery calcium scoring.

Specifically, we pointed out the evidence that USPSTF failed to consider, and studies with findings that were incorrectly interpreted.  We urged USPSTF to provide a C grade for calcium scoring, thereby recommending this service for appropriate patients based on physician judgment and patient preferences.
