SCCT Joins Coalition to Support Tobacco 21 Legislation

The SCCT joined the American College of Cardiology and several other medical societies in supporting two pieces of legislation, S 1541, the Tobacco Free Youth Act, and H.R. 2411/S. 1258, the Tobacco to 21 Act, that would raise to 21 the federal minimum age to purchase tobacco products. The coalition, which is comprised of cardiovascular clinician groups, is speaking with one voice to urge legislators to enact this legislation to help prevent chronic disease and protect public health by restricting youth access to tobacco products.
