This comprehensive course will focus specifically on the use of CT in patients of all ages with congenital heart disease (CHD). Patient preparation, image acquisition and interpretation will be discussed in a case based format using interactive workstations. Cases will reflect the spectrum of unrepaired and palliated/repaired CHD from neonate to adult. The goal audience is pediatric and adult cardiac imagers from either a cardiology or radiology background.

Learning objectives:

  1. Review the most common indications for cardiovascular CT in patients with CHD and review procedural and cumulative diagnostic risk for this patient population.
  2. Learn how to optimize patient preparation and image acquisition in patients with CHD. This includes patient selection and preparation, contrast injection protocols, and scan acquisition focusing on dose optimization.
  3. Learn how to interpret cardiovascular CT in CHD for the most commonly referred CHD lesions.
  4. Discuss radiation dose optimization techniques specific to cardiovascular CT in CHD.
