In recent years transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has completely changed the management of aortic stenosis. Percutaneously placed left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) devices are options for the management of atrial fibrillation for patients who are poor candidates for anticoagulation. CT angiography is absolutely essential for pre-procedural planning of both TAVR and LAAO.
In this workshop, participants will learn from a multi-disciplinary, faculty of experts. They will use individual workstations to work through a variety of pathologies from simple to complex cases. Upon completing the course, participants will be able to:
- Apply cardiovascular CT to determine exact aortic annular sizing for device selection.
- Identify unfavorable aortic and vascular anatomy to reduce potential complications.
- Measure the size of the left atrial appendage orifice and identify unfavorable anatomy.
