New! SCCT CTA EXPERT Academy 2013

Hands-on Refresher in Coronary CT Angiography Interpretation for Experienced Readers

Course Directors:
Stephan Achenbach, MD, FSCCT and
John R. Lesser, MD, FSCCT

This intensive two-day training course with internationally acclaimed faculty is targeted towards experienced interpreters of coronary CT angiography. The intent of this course is to improve interpretation skills of difficult cases through direct comparison of CT data sets and invasive coronary angiography. Fifty (50) data sets have been selected for representation of typical and unusual forms of coronary pathology, hard-to-recognize artifacts and typical pitfalls in a didactic manner.

For very expert readers, the course will provide a unique opportunity to "re-calibrate" stenosis assessment, refresh the knowledge of unusual findings, and discuss interpretation strategies with top clinical experts.

Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, attendees will be better able to:

  • Recognize coronary artery stenosis and assess the severity of complex coronary artery lesions in computed tomography coronary angiography

  • Differentiate coronary stenosis from artifacts in coronary CTA

  • Give examples of unusual variants of cardiac and coronary anatomy and pathology
